After Dundee dropped a further two points in the title race at Morton on Saturday it allowed Inverness Caley Thistle to move nine points clear with only three matches left. Dundee visit Raith Rovers tonight knowing that anything less than a win will see Caley crowned as Champions.

Currently Caley’s far greater goal difference means it is all but over but manager Gordon Chisholm hinted he’ll go for an attacking formation with nothing to lose. He told the press on Monday, “It’s still mathematically possible we could go up, but we have to be realistic about it. We’ll give Raith every respect, but we know we have to score goals and that will be reflected in the shape of the team.”

Dundee will be without top scorer Leigh Griffiths who will miss the rest of the season after an ankle knock on Saturday and also could face a goalkeeping crisis. Tony Bullock and Derek Soutar both missed training on Monday and with Rab Douglas already ruled out Gordon could have to turn to goalkeeper coach Rab Geddes as a final option. The manager said about Geddes, “That would be a last resort though so we’ll give Soapy and Bully as much time as we can.”

Raith busy schedule after a back log of fixtures has seen them in action most midweek’s for the past month and this will be their third match of the week after already taking on Queen of the South on Saturday and Partick Thistle on Monday.

They picked up a point at Firhill on Monday but continued their run without any goal with now stretches beyond four full games. 1 win in 10 since they knocked Dundee out of the Active Nation Scottish Cup in March now sees Raith sit in 7th but four points clear of the play off spot with a game in hand.

Raith’s heavy fixture schedule means injuries have effected their squad. Strikers Graham Weir and Johnny Russell are rated doubtful and a number of other players have already been ruled out including Laurie Ellis and Stephen Simmons.

Vill dock inflika att främste målskytten Lee Griffiths saknas samt att den 49-årige målvaktstränaren kan få spela i värsta fall..
