"coach Vicente del Bosque is looking for his players to show him they deserve their place in the squad when the welcome the South Americans on Wednesday."

Spain will look to change a recent trend when they host Colombia in an international friendly at the Santiago Bernabeu. The world champions ended an historic year on a negative note with a 4-1 loss to Argentina followed by a 4-0 defeat against Portugal.
"I don't think those defeats affected the confidence of my team," Spain coach Vicente del Bosque said.
"Defeats don't mark a tendency but we are vigilant and we don't want it to happen again."
The match against Colombia will serve as preparation for Spain's Euro 2012 qualifiers against the Czech Republic and Lithuania in March.
"I could have brought other players but I wanted to give continuity and confidence to our stable group, which we think we are," Del Bosque added.
"I expect a similar game to the ones we faced against Paraguay and Chile at the World Cup. Besides, Colombia know our football and they are going to try to prove something against us.
"We are the same and I hope we don't change," he said. "We know what we have to do and we have to do our duty."

Spain will be without Barcelona defender Carles Puyol and Arsenal captain Cesc Fabregas for the Colombia game. Puyol is out with a knee injury while Fabregas has stomach flu. This year's Golden Ball finalists Xavi and Andres Iniesta will lead Spain's midfield, with Barcelona's David Villa set to partner new Chelsea striker Fernando Torres up front.
Colombia, meanwhile, will play their first official game on Spanish soil. The only time the teams met previously was in Bogota in 1981, with the game finishing 1-1. The South Americans, who have not qualified for the World Cup in 12 years, will look to end Spain's winning run at home.
Spain have not lost at home since falling to Romania in Cadiz in November 2006.
Colombia coach Hernan Dario Gomez will have to do without Porto striker Falcao, who is out injured.
