Kuroda wasn't too pleased with his outing on Wednesday except for the fact that the Dodgers won, largely due to a 14-run, 18-hit outburst against the Reds at Great American Ball Park. Kuroda kept the game close, giving the Dodgers a chance to rally from an early 3-1 deficit. He allowed six runs, three earned, on seven hits, struck out four and walked two in a 103-pitch effort. He allowed two home runs. Prior to Wednesday's outing, Kuroda had gone 15 innings without allowing a home run and had issued just two walks in 14 innings. Dodgers manager Joe Torre wasn't concerned with Kuroda's outing and was impressed with the way he battled for a victory despite not having his best stuff.

Mets:

Santana has allowed one run in 13 1/3 innings over his past two starts, and he's off to an exceptional start, walking only six and striking out 22 in his first 24 1/3 innings. Santana is 2-0 with a 0.61 ERA in two career starts against the Dodgers.
