Två matcher med extra fokus på
FC Cologne vs Mainz 05
Expect this to become an intense game, given the proximity and rivalry between the two cities.
After some disappointing results in the last few weeks, Cologne are back on track after a convincing 4-0 home win against Freiburg last weekend. Another home game is a good opportunity to build up confidence again. Talisman Lukas Podolski is in top form at the moment.
Mainz have been in good form as well in the last few weeks. The team works well together, but it remains to be seen how they are able to replace Andreas Ivanschitz appropriately.
Expect Cologne to try to take control of the game at home. Mainz are strong on the break and both teams should get plenty of chances in the course of the game.
Genoa vs Inter
Both teams are struggling to find their best tactics and starting XI to play with, but while Inter have key players returning in the likes of Lucio, Maicon and Zanetti from suspension, Genoa have to face Palacio's injury with all the other forwards having scored a combined total of two goals so far (Caracciolo and Jankovic).
Ranieri may stick to the 4-4-2 that won against Fiorentina, but as captain Zanetti is back available, one of Nagatomo, Faraoni or Coutinho will be dropped, even though they were key players in the last match.
Expect Genoa to experience some troubles in creating goal scoring opportunities without Palacio, and therefore Inter Milan should lead operations. Malesani may set his team to prevent Inter's attacks from the flanks, mirroring Ranieri's 4-4-2, so the twist of the game could be a tactical change in the second half.
